I was on my way back from Coimbatore last week, had gone there to attend a marriage ceremony, one of my geeky and nerdy nerdy cousins was getting married ( and the girl looked man !! , jus' dont know how these guys get such good ones! ). On the train, I had no company. I just had my GRE preparation material for company, and ya, ofcourse my hard-to-do-without snacks and stuff ! I was beginning to feel really bugged and thought I would retire to dozing off, when this young man walked into my bay and asked me "if you could,.. well..this is 68 right ?!" (looking into his ticket and tryin to peep beind my head to get a view of his seat no.) I found good company in him for the rest of the journey. There are so many jokes and anecdotes with which he entertained me. And here is one I jus' cannot stop laughing when I think about it even now. Kudos to that man. I'm sure he'll read this blog.
Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench rings and a man engages the hands-free speaker function and begins to talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen. Man: "Hello?"Woman: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?" Man: "Yes."Woman: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only Rs.1,000. Is it okay if I buy it, sweetie?" Jeet Thayil, poet and writer, might be alarmed at comparisons with Joanne Kathleen Rowling, though it would be impossible not to make at least some superficial ones. European Commission initials civil aviation agreements
Delegations of the European Commission and the Government of the Republic of India initialled on 8 April 2008 in Brussels a Horizontal Aviation Agreement which will restore legal certainty to the bilateral air services agreements between India and 26 EU member states. The Pilot-MP row refuses to die down. Just a day after Captain Rajat Rana, the pilot who stood up to MP Abdul Wahab, broke his silence over the issue, supporters of the Kerala MP have hit back threatening the pilot with dire consequences.
Captain Rajat Rana was caught on camera recently by TIMES NOW, but today Rana is running away from our cameras, because Rajya Sabha MP Abdul Wahab has threatened him with dire action.
The row, which ordinarily should have died down, has now escalated into a huge standoff that could damage the young pilot's career. The fear was evident when he spoke to our reporter.

Pilot body may slap suit on Kerala MP
The argument between Rajya Sabha MP P.V. Abdul Wahab and an Air India pilot has escalated into a major row with the Indian Commercial Pilots Association (ICPA) threatening to file a defamation suit against the lawmaker.
ICPA added that global pilot organisations would be requested to blacklist Wahab from flying for endangering flight security if the government doesn’t take action.
The MP was asked to get off an Air India aircraft at Kozhikode on Tuesday by its pilot Captain Rajat Rana after he was allegedly late for the flight. ICPA also alleges that Wahab called the pilots ‘glorified drivers’ after barging into the cockpit. Wahab has denied entering the cockpit and said he would move a privilege motion in Parliament against the pilot.

Ministry calls for restraint
In a bid to defuse the tension arising out of the row over an MP being asked to de-plane by a pilot, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel urged both sides to await the report of an enquiry ordered by Air India into the incident.
"It is an unfortunate incident. But pending the enquiry, it is premature to give an opinion as to who was at fault. It is not right to say that all MPs are wrong or all pilots are right. Nothing should be imputed till the enquiry is completed," Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said here when his comment was sought on the incident.
